Infections and house concerns

Yesterday we were looking at Isaac and it looked as if he had fever blisters on his neck and chest. It looked really bad so we called the doctor and today took him in to have it checked. She said it was baby acne that was infected. The acne on his cheeks look like a rash now too. So sad. She gave us some face cream and an antibiotic to give him. Hopefully it will clear up.

Our house if falling apart. It could potentially cost us a lot of money and we are very stressed out. The issue seems to be that the foundation is settling, causing cracks in the walls and floor. It is making the doors stick and the brick to break. We are praying for a miracle--literally--that it will somehow fix itself. Mike said he will never buy a house again and it is making him very stressed and angry (which we all know doesn't happen very often so this is a big deal).

Test

I am testing to see if Jessica's disappearing posts are a common problem.

Trip to the beach

When Mike, Mandy, and kids were visiting we all went to the beach. At first Dad didn't think he would be able to take the time off work. We were all sad to think that Grandpa would miss out on the fun trip. He went into work early and stayed late, and was able to come with us! We were all thrilled.
We met Friday morning on the 4th of August at the Crowl's house and started our trip. We had two vans full of people. Mom and Dad, Mike, Mandy, Mikayla, Braden, and Tyson were in one van. Jason, Jess, Laura, Austin, Layla, and Ryan were in the second van. The trip there was relatively uneventful with only one stop for a potty break.
We got to the beach, unloaded everything, got our suits on and then, in the true Richards family way, ate before even thinking of getting in the water.
It was a pretty hot day, with the sand burning our feet as we ran across it to get into the cool ocean. Somehow, though, it didn't seem to bother the little guys. Layla and Braden walked across it with no complaint. Maybe it has something to do with weight and foot size?
At first Layla and Braden didn't want anything to do with the water, but after Uncle Jason showed all the kids how to dig for sand crabs we couldn't keep them out of the water.
We each had turns to go out deep into the water and jump over the swells. The best was Tyson out deep with Mike balancing him on one hand and throwing him up into the air. Those Pitcher babies have no fear.
All in all it was a terrific trip, and we wish the rest of you had been there with us!

Grandma Clark and Ike

It should work now.

Hot

Last night our air conditioner broke. We called someone to fix it and hopefully they will come early today. We are spending the day anywhere we can find air conditioning....

Here is a picture of Rebecca's little league team with our Governor. This is my first post so I don't know if the picture is really there or not.

Will has to go.

Today will got my attention and started pulling on his diaper. I wondered if perhaps he had to go to the bathroom. So, I took off his diaper, and held him over the toilet. He didn't like that all that much, so, deciding he was just pulling on his diaper, I put him in the tub. I left, and when Adrianne went to get him out of the tub (because that's where I left him), she said he was stepping in his pee. I guess he had to go. She thinks he's very smart and wanted me to share that with you all.

Cousins at Grandpa and Grandma's House

While Mandy and Mike Pitcher and family were visiting us Jessica and family frequently came to play at our house too. Here is a picture of Jessica and Mandy's oldest kids. From left to right they are Mikayla, Braden, Austin and Layla. Aren't they cute?

Andrew and Laura's new baby boy

Nicholas Andrew Richards was born on August 17th 2006 in Bel Air, Maryland. He weighed 7 lbs 5.8 oz. 19 inches long. He was born at 10:25 pm. Laura's water broke at about 3 am and we headed out to the hospital which is just a short distance from our home. Dad/Grandpa remained at home to alert Andrew and find all of the contact information for the Red Cross. The Red Cross was great and quickly contacted Sheppard Air Force base where Andrew is stationed. They wrote up emergency orders for Andy and he was on his way to Maryland. Andy arrived at the hospital at about 2:00 pm and was able to support Laura during the second half of her labor and then be part of the delivery of his first child.
