Breakfast
Yesterday morning I was asking the kids what they wanted for breakfast, "Layla, do you want biscuits, or squares with no holes?" It got me to thinking that we have funny names for our cereal. Our favorite cereal is Frosted Mini-wheats, or biscuits. They also like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or squares with no holes (Chex is squares with holes). Cheerios is circles. Cocoa pops is cocoa puffs. Stars is any sort of star shaped cereal. What do you eat in the mornings?

We eat cereal. The boys eat cereals that aren't good for them, except Will likes Shredded Wheat. I eat the healthier ones (raison bran, oatmeal). We also eat eggs, pancakes, waffles, french toast, creamed eggs on toast, sometimes bacon or smokies if we have any in the house. I make breakfast about every other day and the other days we just have cereal.
Wow! You are a great mom. I NEVER make breakfast. Seriously, I cannot think of the last time that I made breakfast in the morning. We do occasionally eat breakfast for dinner.
I too am always shocked to find out that people actually cook breakfast! Lots of husbands in my ward do that on a daily basis. We are cereal people, though. We like all flavors of mini wheats, grapenut O's, anything with strawberries in it, Special K Fruit and Yogurt... most all cereals. We usually stick to these but occassionally get sugary/kid cereals, too. Mikakyla sometimes says, "We don't have any kid cereals!"
Laura always tells me once she's up on the weekend "I thought you would make me breakfast," which meens either pancakes, muffins, or waffles because she won't eat eggs nor sausage in the morning, and she never eats bacon. I DO make her breakfast about once or twice a month. Every once in a while I'll get out of the shower to find that Laura has made ME an omlet with hotdogs, which she decided are the same as breakfast sausges and toast. Most days I eat either cereal or a raisin bread that we get for free (there's a lady in our ward who gets all the bread from safe way that they won't sell any more and then passes it out to every one in the ward). Laura either eats cereal or drinks mate or camamile tea with toast.
For some reason I find it funny to eat hotdogs at breakfast! We eat hotdogs all the time, but NEVER at breakfast. Does anyone remember Dad ever making breakfast on the weekends?
I don't really remember dad making breakfast...but I do have a vivid memory of dad making a mountain of shredded potatoes for hash browns that turned gray and slimy in the fridge.
