Christmas Traditions

I want to know what everyone is doing for Christmas Eve and how you do Christmas day. This is our first year not going home to Grandma's house. We are going to have to make Christmas by ourselves for our kids and I'm not sure I can do it.... So what do you do???

I'll be spending the 24th and Christmas morning flying to Argentina. I'll spend all of Christmas day on a bus and on the 26th I'll get to see my family again. While not very traditional, I couldn't think of anything I would rather be doing with my circumstances.

I'm so happy for you and your family, Andy! What a perfect Christmas for you.

We just went and saw the lights last night. Tonight we decided to cancel the gingerbread houses (the kits are gone at Walmart) and make candy trains instead. We are also making treats to take to friends. Then we will tell the Christmas story with pictures I found from the Nursery book I have. Tomorrow is the ward Christmas party so we will go to that too.

Those are our plans. Today is beautiful (67!) so we are going to play all day outside and I am going to walk around our backyard a thousand times to exercise while the boys play.

Christmas Eve we do something with Jason's family. This year we are going to all come here and have dinner (Mexican food! not traditional, but delicious) then we exchange gifts with them.

After they leave we will get baths, then open our Christmas jammies. When we are all comfy in our new pjs we will read the Christmas story out of Luke. Then it is bedtime. We are planning on having the big kids camp out in our room and watch a Christmas movie.

Once they fall asleep we will move Layla's bed into her new room and then put them both back in their beds. It should be fun as long as she doesn't flip out!
