Mom and Dad weigh in on the Family Reunion

We are extremely excited that you all are planning a family reunion. Thanks Mike for taking the hint and instigating it. We will see if we can make it. . . . . . .hahaha. Of course we will be here to welcome you all with open arms. July works well for us.

We are going to try our hardest to get the basement done to provide additional sleeping spaces and an additional bathroom. Anyone who comes early might be enlisted to help with whatever remains to be done in the basement.

We are planning to provide all of the food, but don’t necessarily want to be the only planners, preparers or cleaner-uppers! We can have some fun tossing out menu suggestions, any preparations that can be done ahead Mom would be happy to do. This is something that we certainly don’t need to worry about yet.

If the expense of buying tickets is prohibitive let us know and we will see what we can do to help you. We would be sad to have anyone miss out due to lack of resources. The bank of Mom and Dad can be opened if there is a need.

We love you all,

Dad and Mom

If the bank of Mom and Dad ever has a surplus, we would be happy to hold it for them.

How would the week after the 4th of July work for everyone? That might allow some, like me, a longer vacation starting on the 4th and using less vacation time. It may be cheaper to fly on the holiday too if people are willing. I'm not sure I can be available the 15th to the 19th as was previously suggested. Anyway, it's just another date to throw out.

I forgot to mention that if we have it the week after the 4th we could still celebrate Mike's birthday early and eat cake and icecream.

Do you mean we travel on the 4th and start the reunion on the 5th? So have it the 5th thru the 8th or 9th? That is fine with me. Once we have dates selected, we can start planning the fun stuff, like activities and food!

I'm thinking we still start the reunion on Monday and run through Thursday with plans. People can certainly get there early or stay late. Of course if everyone's plans end up being there sooner we could make total family plans earlier.

So, just so we are all on the same page...
Family Reunion will start on July 7th and run through the 10th or 11th.

I'm on that page: July 7th thru 10

I think the 7-10 or 11 is perfect. I will throw out there for thoughts that anyone who could be there for church on the 6th would make mom's day. She always likes having her kids and grandkids to show off to her friends and if somehow it worked out that we could all be there it would be pretty cool. Then the festivities could still be started on the 7th, with any earlier days being church and lazy days.
